Mercy Boxing<3

I totally just had one that ended up as a 'Play of the Game' – seriously, the comms were full of prolonged screaming, but in the best way possible! We almost faced defeat, but then... well, you'll see why I'm talking about Mercy boxing! For those who might be new to the term, "Mercy boxing" is basically when you, as Mercy, pull out your Caduceus Blaster (that little pistol!) or even resort to melee, to fight enemies rather than just healing or damage boosting. It's usually not her primary role, but sometimes, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! Whether it's to defend yourself from a flanking Genji or Tracer, finish off a low-health enemy your team missed, or even just when you're the last one standing and have no other choice, it's a surprisingly effective – and incredibly satisfying – move. I've found myself in these situations more often than I'd like to admit, especially when my team gets wiped and I'm left alone against an enemy or two. Instead of just giving up, I've learned that Mercy's pistol actually packs a decent punch if you can land your shots. It's a projectile weapon, so leading your shots is key, but it can melt squishies pretty quickly. Plus, using your Guardian Angel for evasive maneuvers while shooting can make you a surprisingly slippery target. That feeling when you out-duel a DPS as a support? Pure adrenaline! It’s all about knowing when to switch from your healing staff to your blaster, often when your teammates are safe, or when you absolutely need to defend yourself. And don't forget her melee – sometimes a quick melee can secure a kill against a very low-health target, or even interrupt an enemy ability if you're close enough. My recent "Play of the Game" was exactly one of those chaotic scenarios. Everyone thought it was over, the enemy team was pushing hard, and I just heard Athena announcing 'Defeat' almost in my ear, but I managed to turn it around with some last-ditch pistol shots and a well-timed Guardian Angel. The comms were filled with prolonged screaming of disbelief and excitement from my teammates – it was epic! It truly felt like I snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. It's moments like these that make you realize Mercy isn't just a healer; she's a survivor, and sometimes, a brawler. So next time you're in a pinch as Mercy, don't be afraid to pull out that pistol and show them what you're made of! You might just get your own "Play of the Game" out of it.
