Golden hour photo inspo

Absolutely loved this session we did on a sleepy St. Augustine beach! The sunset was simply stunning. Does anyone else have a memory where you can close your eyes and be in that exact place mentally? That’s how I feel about this day. It was so peaceful, I was definitely nervous to take pics at first, but our photographer made it so easy. I love this memory and can’t wait to go back some day✨

I recently had an absolutely unforgettable experience on a sleepy St. Augustine beach, and I wanted to share some insights for anyone dreaming of their own stunning couple photos. The soft, warm glow of the golden hour creates such a magical, ethereal backdrop, making every shot feel like it's straight out of a fairy tale. For us, the key to those perfect romantic beach portraits started with the location. While St. Augustine provided the ideal calm water and sandy beach, thinking about what makes a location special is important. Look for beaches with soft sand, minimal crowds, and an unobstructed view of the sunset. This ensures you can truly immerse yourselves in the moment without distractions. That 'golden hour beach calm' really made a difference, allowing us to feel completely at ease. Next up, outfits! I opted for a beautiful white floral dress, which caught the light perfectly and flowed beautifully in the gentle sea breeze. For golden hour aesthetic photos, think about light, flowy fabrics that add movement and softness to your images. Amazon dresses can be great for finding affordable yet chic options, as I discovered myself. My partner chose a long-sleeved shirt and jeans, which complemented the setting without clashing. The goal is to look comfortable and natural, allowing your connection to shine through. Now, for the poses – this is where many couples feel nervous, and I was no exception! But a good photographer can guide you effortlessly. We focused on natural interactions: holding hands while walking away from the camera, sharing a kiss, and simply looking into each other's eyes. My favorite shots were the candid ones, like when we were laughing as my partner sprayed champagne – it added such a fun, authentic element to our romantic couple golden hour photoshoot. Don't be afraid to try playful poses alongside the tender ones; they all contribute to a rich collection of memories. The photographer encouraged us to just be ourselves, which turned out to be the best advice for those truly authentic golden hour couple photos. Finally, the timing is everything. Golden hour typically lasts for about an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset. For those dreamy, warm glow shots, aim to be on location and ready to shoot with your photographer at least 30 minutes before the official golden hour begins. This gives you time to settle in and make the most of that precious light. The feeling of the peaceful sunset, the soft sand beneath our feet, and the beautiful light made it a memory I can close my eyes and return to mentally. If you're looking to capture your love in a truly special way, a golden hour beach photoshoot is an experience I wholeheartedly recommend.
