The Real Definition of Wealth 🥹
New Apartment Series Part XV: The Move-In Fee ✅
I first want to thank God for getting me through this thing called life that led to me graduating college! 🙏🏽 Then, I wanna still thank Him for giving me a family that can provide for themselves and each other, in turn allowing them to bless me on my special day and beyond. 🫶🏽
Before I left for LA, I had $625 from graduation gifts; I went home and received two cards: 1 with a $100 check and another with a $200 check, both for graduation. Then, someone slipped me $100 cash before I left the house in LA. 😮💨 Blessed and Relieved. The only two words to describe how I was feeling!
I now only had to take $300 out of my check to be able to reach the $1300+ goal for the move-in fee. 🥹 Full transparency, with my account being over drafted, that means I’d be covering myself and taking out more money than I really intended to. But nevertheless, God provided over the past few weeks and well before it was time for me to pay. I’m forever grateful! 🤎

In today's fast-paced world, the definition of wealth often revolves around money and material items. However, true wealth goes beyond financial success. It encompasses a sense of fulfillment, emotional well-being, and the connections we build with others. The experience of graduating college and receiving loving support from family is a true testament to what wealth means in a broader sense. Having financial literacy and understanding the importance of budgeting can significantly impact your ability to manage personal finances effectively. For instance, knowing when and how to allocate resources, like the $300 out of your paycheck to meet the $1300 move-in fee goal, is crucial. Also, gratefulness for the small victories—like receiving checks or cash gifts—helps shift the mindset from scarcity to abundance. Moreover, personal finance experts recommend setting specific financial goals, such as saving for housing stability or unexpected expenses. Utilizing simple tools like budgeting apps or spreadsheets can empower individuals to visualize their financial journey. This comprehensive approach not only assists in achieving financial stability but also enriches our lives by enabling us to focus on experiences and relationships that truly matter. By harnessing the lessons learned through such experiences, we can redefine our perspectives on wealth, ensuring it aligns with our values and encourages a fulfilling life.
