How to make ramen “nutritious”
One thing about me is I LOVE a good comfort food. Nothing beats loaded ramen on a day where I just want to relax. Ramen lacks nutritional value so here’s some ways to make it more nutritious!

•Steak or Chicken
•Egg: sunny-side or boiled
•Mayo
•Veggies: Peas, Carrots + Corn are my faves!
•Teriyaki Sauce or Soy Sauce (flavor!!!)
Ramen is a beloved comfort food for many, but it is often critiqued for lacking substantial nutrition. From my experience, enhancing ramen's nutritional profile doesn’t require complicated recipes or expensive ingredients—just a few thoughtful additions can make a huge difference. Start by including a good source of protein such as steak or chicken, which not only satiates but also provides essential amino acids necessary for muscle repair and overall health. Eggs are another excellent protein choice—you can boil them or cook them sunny-side up to add richness and texture. Vegetables are key to improving ramen’s nutrient density. I personally enjoy adding peas, carrots, and corn; these not only bring vibrant colors but also contribute fiber, vitamins, and minerals. For instance, carrots add beta-carotene (a precursor to vitamin A), while peas and corn offer fiber and antioxidants. Adding a variety of vegetables helps balance the meal and supports digestion. Don’t overlook flavor—adding a splash of teriyaki or soy sauce elevates the taste and makes the dish more enjoyable without excessive calories. A small amount of mayo can also add creaminess and calories if you need extra energy or fats, but use it sparingly. Finally, if you use packaged ramen, try to limit the included flavor packets as they can be high in sodium. Instead, create your own broth by simmering some broth with added vegetables or herbs. This reduces sodium content and increases flavor complexity. In summary, making ramen nutritious involves simple, accessible ingredients: quality protein, colorful veggies, and balanced seasoning. This approach turns a quick comfort meal into a nourishing and satisfying dish that you can enjoy regularly without guilt.
