MIRACLES SOBRIETY HAS BROUGHT ME

Something I’ve heard in the rooms of my 12 step program is “Stay till you see the miracle”. For so long I believed I would never see a miracle. Boy was I wrong. In these last 3 1/2 yrs of sobriety I’ve been blessed with many miracles. This one being the most recent, the miracle of a healthy, happy, and sober co parenting relationship. I didn’t think this would happen in my wildest dreams for the longest time yet today the miracle is my day to day life. I am so grateful!

While many associate sobriety with loss, it can actually lead to profound development and newfound joy. In 12-step programs, one crucial tenet is to 'stay till you see the miracle', and this resonates deeply for many. Finding joy and stability in co-parenting after sobriety can be one of the most surprising miracles. Many who have battled addiction feel hopeless about reconciling past hurts or the remnants of fractured relationships. However, through commitment to sobriety, patience, and continuous self-growth, the potential for healthy co-parenting remains. Achieving a balanced relationship with an ex-partner takes time, yet it can result in a nurturing environment for children. Furthermore, sobriety fosters self-awareness and the ability to navigate emotional spaces more effectively. Individuals often report feeling more present and engaged in their lives, which can improve interactions with loved ones. Attending support groups often reinforces this idea; sharing experiences can affirm that miracles abound in sobriety, inspiring others to persist in their recovery. Understanding that miracles can be both monumental and mundane provides a broader perspective on what life can become post-addiction. Always remember, every step taken in sobriety, no matter how small, contributes to a more meaningful future.
