A GIRLIE THAT GETS FACIAL HAIR DUE TO PCOS 💔

I was diagnosed with PCOS as a teenager. The facial hair started years after. I’ve noticed these last couple of years that it has gotten worse. I find myself removing hair multiple times a week. It only takes a day for it to grow back, but removing it every day gets exhausting, so I try to grow it out as much as I can before I have to remove it again. I find it easier to remove that way.

I started out tweezing for multiple years until I switched to a depilatory cream that finally works for me. I’m so self-conscious about the facial hair and other symptoms that I get from it, and it literally makes me hate the way I look on some days. But one thing that has helped me is finding out that so many other people have almost the exact same problem as me and are open to discussing it online. The support for PCOS girlies is unreal. 🫶🏽✨

Many women with PCOS experience increased facial hair growth, which can be frustrating and impact self-esteem. It's important to remember you are not alone; support groups both online and offline provide a space for sharing experiences and coping strategies. Treatments for managing facial hair can vary from home remedies like tweezing and waxing to medical interventions such as laser hair removal or hormonal therapy. Consulting with a healthcare provider can help tailor the best approach for individual needs. Emphasizing self-acceptance and engaging with supportive communities can make a significant difference in navigating the emotional aspects of PCOS. Finding shared experiences can uplift and encourage resilience among those affected. Stay empowered and remember to prioritize self-love in your journey with PCOS.
