Always have a testing page because sometimes any coloring utensils can be a different color rather it’s a marker or pencils or anything always have a testing page or two so you know what actual color it is. Also welcome to coloring! You’re better then I was when I started ❤️

Go a piece of paper and test out the color on it. Do a little rectangle or square and write which marker it was so you can pick what color you want easier. Besides that maybe just work on adding more shadows
