Practicing Korean in Public 🌸
One of my Korean learning goals this year is to get more comfortable practicing Korean with real people! Sadly she didn’t remember the conversation about BTS we had months ago 🤣 Happy New Year~ 🎆

Starting the new year with a goal to speak more Korean in real-life situations is a fantastic challenge that truly enhances language skills. From my experience, the key to improving spoken Korean is regular practice with actual speakers rather than only studying from books or apps. One helpful approach is to visit Korean cafes or cultural events where conversational Korean is common. Even if your speaking skills are basic, attempting simple greetings and small talk can build your confidence. You might find opportunities to talk about popular Korean culture topics, like BTS or Korean dramas, which are great icebreakers. Don't worry if the person you speak with doesn't remember previous conversations—every interaction is a fresh learning chance. It's also valuable to prepare phrases and questions beforehand, such as asking for recommendations or opinions in Korean, so you feel more ready to engage. Mistakes are part of the journey, so embracing them with humor keeps the learning process enjoyable. By consistently practicing with native speakers in casual settings, your Korean speaking ability will naturally improve, and you’ll feel more comfortable participating in conversations in public. Keep track of your progress and celebrate small victories along the way—it makes a big difference in motivation and fluency.
This interaction was so comfortable yet nerve wracking at the same time?? She was much older than me so I kept wondering if I’m being polite/formal enough ðŸ˜
