Places I visited/ ate at while in Mexico City 🇲🇽

1- Mi compa Chava - 10/10 Food and drinks were exquisite!

2- Ling Ling- excellent customer service, food and drinks were also good and the place has a nice aesthetic with amazing 360 views.

3- Casa Franca - perfect chill spot with life Jazz music. Had some mini tacos that were tasty. Drinks were good ( maybe not as strong as I would like) the people were very friendly.

4&5- Cafe Nin was amazing that I went there twice during my stay. Both breakfast and lunch there are very tasty. I would definitely recommend.

6- Jelu Jole - 1/10 - would not return

7- Hotel Riazor - tries a few items there and I was not disappointed. That shrimp wrap ( pictured)was very juicy.

8- Supra- very nice ambiance, perfect lounge spot & hookah but I wasn’t pleased with the food nor drink

9- El Jaracho - most options had pork so

It was hard to find something I liked. I had a beef taco, it wasn’t too bad. Too many people were coming inside trying to sell things or ask for money so that made me a little uneasy lol.

10-El Patriarca - tacos were good but the drinks were weak

Overall one thing that stood out is the service. People ate very nice, friendly and welcoming which is one of the things I love about Mexico 🇲🇽

Mexico City

... Read moreDuring my trip to Mexico City, I found that exploring the local food scene was one of the most memorable parts of the experience. Beyond the places I visited like Mi Compa Chava and Cafe Nin, which I recommend highly, I discovered that the city offers a rich variety of dining atmospheres—from lively lounges with hookah to chilled jazz spots. One thing that stood out consistently was the warmth and friendliness of the service staff. This paralleled what I've read about Mexican hospitality, where making guests feel welcome is a priority in many establishments. It adds a special touch to dining out and can often make even an average meal enjoyable. I also realized that the diversity of options can sometimes be overwhelming, especially when some places heavily feature pork dishes, which might not suit everyone. For travelers with dietary preferences, it’s useful to scout menus online beforehand or ask locals for recommendations on places that cater to various tastes. Locations like Ling Ling impressed me not only with their food and drinks but also with the aesthetics and panoramic views—making it a great spot for both socializing and unwinding. On the other hand, some places like Jelu Jole didn’t meet my expectations, which reminded me that not every popular spot will suit your personal tastes, and it’s perfectly fine to move on and find somewhere better. If you appreciate good music while dining, Casa Franca’s live jazz sessions create a relaxed environment that complements their tasty mini tacos and drinks. Also, Cafe Nin's reputation for excellent breakfast and lunch held true during my visits, making it a reliable choice for quality meals. Lastly, when visiting busy venues like El Jaracho, it’s good to be prepared for a bustling environment that might not always feel comfortable, considering street vendors inside the premises. Overall, Mexico City’s food scene is vibrant and varied, offering something for adventurers, foodies, and anyone looking to experience local culture through its flavors and hospitality.
