📍 Dimmi Dimmi

Finally checked out one of Chicago’s hardest reservations… and it lived up to the hype 🍝✨

What we got:

✨ Mozzarella sticks

✨ Tavern-style cheese pizza

✨ Gnudi Pomodoro

✨ Spicy vodka stuffed shells

✨ Eggplant parmesan with pink sauce mac

✨ Coconut gelato with warm chocolate & candied almonds

My favorites were the tavern-style pizza, eggplant parm, and the gnudi. The pizza had the perfect thin, crispy crust, the gnudi was light and pillowy with an incredible tomato sauce, and the eggplant parm was one of the best dishes of the night. The mozzarella sticks, stuffed shells, and dessert were all good, but they just didn’t stand out as much as the others.

If you can score a reservation, it’s definitely worth the visit. Save this for your next Chicago date night! 🍷

... Read moreBooking a table at Dimmi Dimmi is no easy feat due to its popularity and reputation for outstanding Italian cuisine. From my experience, the key to genuinely enjoying your meal here is to try a variety of dishes that highlight different textures and flavors. For example, the tavern-style cheese pizza stands out because of its perfect balance of a thin, crispy crust and a generous layer of gooey cheese, making it satisfying yet not too heavy. The gnudi pomodoro was another delightful surprise—it’s a less common dish that feels like a softer, lighter version of gnocchi, with a tomato sauce that complements it perfectly without overpowering the delicate dumplings. It’s a dish to savor slowly. Eggplant parmesan with pink sauce macaroni is a creative twist on a classic—combining the comfort of eggplant parm with creamy mac and cheese infused with a tangy pink sauce creates a rich and indulgent dish. It’s definitely one of the highlights that made my visit memorable. While the spicy vodka stuffed shells and mozzarella sticks didn’t stand out as much, they still added variety and were enjoyable accompaniments. Ending the meal with coconut gelato topped with warm chocolate and candied almonds was a refreshing way to balance the rich flavors. If you manage to get a reservation, I recommend sharing multiple dishes family-style to sample a broad spectrum of what Dimmi Dimmi offers. Also, consider pairing your meal with a good Italian wine to elevate the experience. In my opinion, this restaurant is an excellent choice for special occasions or date nights in Chicago where the atmosphere and culinary creativity combine to create a memorable outing.
