What can you do in Batam for 2D1N?
Reminder that you can travel to Batam over the weekend! Batam truly is the new JB... it's extremely affordable! Here's a dummy's guide to visiting Batam:
📆 DAY 1:
- took Sindo ferry from harbourfront terminal at 1720.
PROTIPS: If you booked online, remember to collect the ticket at Level 3 of HBF centre before heading to departure zone. Remember to complete the Indonesian arrival card so you can skip the customs and use egate upon arrival at Batam!
- cleared customs in less than 5 minutes. Took a grab to our hotel (ARTOTEL Batam ) . Hotel was an absolute steal, just $60/night for a really well maintained hotel!
- had dinner atKesiangan Coffee X Fat Boy Club Batam Centre. burger was the best thing i've ever had... and i did not get a picture 😔 i'll never stop talking about this place
- massage at Spa Central Batam - Nagoya Hill Branch 💆♀️ paid an additional 30,000idr (~$2) for a private room.
📆 DAY 2:
- took a 2h hike at Panbil Nature Reserve with a guide 🌿 a great activity that isn't the typical cafe hopping & massage! learnt about the forest plants and animals here, even found a freshwater source 💧! also ended the hike by feeding sambar deers 🦌
- had lunch at Si Fang Yuan Dimsum 四方缘点心 dimsum was a little overrated... dimsum in JB is probably a better option!
- had tea at itsumō TART (cover picture). had the cheese ice cream & london fog tart. worth the hype! visited at 1pm so it was not crowded! ☕️
- visited Grand Batam Mall, can buy some necessities / watson items because they're cheaper here!
- foot reflexology at THE SPA SECRET . ngl felt a bit shady because there was a hoard of drivers at the counter when we arrived, but the massage provided was thorough and good. note that 1.5h is the minimum duration for their foot reflexology.
- dinner at Warung Guling Pak Made . spicy but yummy!
- headed back to the ferry terminal for the 2020 ferry back to SG, arriving at 2220! 🏡

Although THE SPA SECRET initially seemed busy with drivers, the foot reflexology was thorough and relaxing. Just keep in mind the minimum session times. Overall, Batam's mix of nature, culinary delights, and wellness options makes for a well-rounded quick trip if you manage your itinerary smartly. Budget about $275 SGD per person for a comfortable, enjoyable 2D1N vacation including ferry, lodging, food, and activities.
