Wiggles&Giggles

These two little blue weirdos are death-feigning beetles, also known as some of the most delightfully dramatic pets on earth. They waddle around like tiny wind-up toys, climb on everything, and occasionally act like the world has simply become too much and it’s time to play dead about it. Very relatable, honestly.

They may be small, but they bring a ridiculous amount of personality. Strange, adorable, and just a little unhinged, which is exactly how I like my pets.

These beetles showcase a unique blend of curiosity and drama that makes every moment with them entertaining. They move deliberately, almost like tiny wind-up toys, exploring their environment with cautious enthusiasm. When overwhelmed, they curl up and play dead—an adorable, theatrical response that never fails to amuse. Maintaining their habitat is simpler than it seems; they thrive in small terrariums with moist substrates and occasional fresh leaves or fruit for nutrition. I found that providing climbing structures not only mimics their natural environment but also encourages their playful antics, adding personality to their enclosure. Watching them interact with their surroundings feels much like observing little blue actors in a one-beetle show. These beetles make excellent pets for those seeking low-maintenance yet charismatic companions. Beyond their quirky antics, they invite curiosity about insect behavior and adaptability. Their “Wiggles and Giggles” persona perfectly captures their spirited nature—strange, lovable, and just a little unhinged. If you enjoy pets that bring unexpected joy and a splash of whimsy to your daily routine, these death-feigning beetles are a delightful choice.
