Assurance of Salvation

This is also linked to the idea of 'lordship salvation,' which simply means that if Jesus is truly your Savior, He is also your Lord. You'll want to obey Him, not perfectly, but out of gratitude and love. Beyond 1 John 5:11-12, there are so many other Bible verses that solidify this assurance. Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us that "it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." These aren't just words; they are divine guarantees that bring immense peace to a searching heart. My own salvation experience wasn't a lightning bolt moment for everyone, but a gradual realization of my need for Jesus and then a conscious decision to follow Him. Since then, I've learned that cultivating assurance involves continually fixing my eyes on Christ, studying His Word, praying, and connecting with other believers. When doubts try to creep in, I remind myself of these scriptures and the unchanging character of God. It's a journey, but standing on the rock of His promises makes all the difference.
