For Makari, I really focused on giving him a softer, more femme aesthetic, which meant paying extra attention to his build and facial features. The Magic of Custom Content (CC) in Character Creation One of the biggest game-changers for any Simmer is custom content. As you know, Makari is nearly all CC, and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way! While The Sims 4 packs offer amazing official content, CC opens up a whole new universe of possibilities. For Makari's look, finding that white ribbed turtleneck and the iconic black and white cow-print wide-leg pants from various creators truly defined his style. Custom content allows you to express so much more detail and individuality than the base game or even expansion packs alone. My top tip for finding great CC is to explore Simblr (Sims Tumblr) and Patreon, always making sure to download from reputable creators to keep your game running smoothly. Personalizing Your Sim's Style Beyond Clothes Beyond just clothes, remember to think about hair, accessories, and makeup to complete your Sim's look. For Makari, choosing a hairstyle that complemented his overall vibe was crucial. Little details like earrings, glasses, or even a subtle makeup look can make a huge difference in character customization. I always try to imagine their backstory or personality traits while I'm designing them, which helps guide my aesthetic choices. For example, knowing Makari was a 'twink and femme boy' directly influenced my choices for his clothing and overall styling. It's about telling a story through their appearance. Playing The Sims 4 on a Macbook Air M1 For those of you wondering about playing The Sims 4 on a Macbook Air M1, I can share my experience! It actually runs surprisingly well. The M1 chip is quite powerful for integrated graphics. While you might not be able to crank all the settings to ultra, I've found that on medium to high settings, the game is very playable. You'll get smooth frame rates for building, live mode, and especially in the Create-A-Sim mode. Of course, heavily modded games or extremely large, detailed lots might cause some slowdown, but for general gameplay and character creation, it's a solid experience. Just ensure your macOS is up to date and close unnecessary background apps for optimal performance. It's great to know you can still enjoy this amazing game on a portable Apple device without needing a high-end gaming PC!
