Kyurem Raids in Pokémon GO

Kyurem is back in raids!

🗓️ Dec 4 - 13

✨ 1 in 20 shiny odds

🚫 No Fusion energy

Kyurem is a good Ice-type attacker, but it reaches its full potential when it has its featured attack, Glaciate, and is fused with Reshiram or Zekrom to create Kyurem White or Kyurem Black.

When fused, Kyurem takes the IVs, CP, and shiny from the Kyurem. Fused Kyurems also use Kyurem candy to power up. These raids may still be worth doing even without the fusion energy, depending on your needs.

Fusion raids have not yet been announced, but I think it's a safe guess to say they'll be coming at some point this season.

Kyurem stands out as a formidable Ice-type attacker, notable for its powerful featured move, Glaciate, which helps reduce opponents’ speed making it highly effective in battles. Although fusion energy for creating Kyurem White or Kyurem Black is not available during this particular raid window, capturing regular Kyurem still offers valuable opportunities. The 1 in 20 shiny odds mean that shiny hunters have a decent chance of adding a rare version of Kyurem to their collection if they participate in multiple raids. Remember that the IVs, CP, and shiny status of Kyurem carry over when it fuses with Reshiram or Zekrom, so securing strong Kyurems now is smart preparation for future fusion raid events expected later this season. Strategically, Kyurem is rated as an A-tier attacker in the Ultra League and Great League (UL and GL), due to its solid stats and move pool boosted by Glaciate. Its weaknesses mainly fall to Dragon and Ice-type moves, so countering it with Pokémon like Eternatus with Dragon Tail or Mega Rayquaza could make raids easier. Additionally, Kyurem’s possible moves such as Dragon Tail, Metal Claw, and Behemoth Blade provide versatility in battle. For powering up Kyurem, players will need Kyurem candy, which can be obtained from participating and winning raids during this event. Since fusion raids haven’t been announced yet, focusing on maximizing the Kyurems you catch now can help you prepare for fusion versions that offer unique benefits and potential combat advantages. Raiding with friends or joining communities like dittobase.com and associated Discord servers can increase your chances of victory and improve your experience during this event. Keep an eye out for announcements on fusion raids and make sure to plan your raids accordingly to get the most out of the Kyurem appearances in Pokémon GO.
