Cherry Cola Hair HiColor by L’Oréal Paris
Dying my hair cherry red ❤️
I received this item as a compliment as a part of the L'Oréal Consumer Beauty Collective #LOrealConsumerBeautyPartner
Crewneck from WWW.CUIDATEATX.COM
P.S. I did have box hair dye that was dark brown and this was the final result with no alterations, color remover or bleach :)
If you want to use a color remover I recommend: Colorfix Hair Color Remover with Argon Oil
What I did and used:
🍒I used 2 HiColor Highlights in Magenta and 1/2 of HiColor Violet in True Violet
30 Vol. Developer by Ion for sensitive scalp (literally did not feel any itching or burning nothing 10/10 would recommend)
🍒I mixed the developer with all the dye and I didn’t measure it, I just made sure it looked even and consistent, but I would research to see if you need to actually measure it if you need too/peace of mind.
🍒I then mixed until there were no clumps and added the Ion Step: 1 Booster. It helps with moisture and strengthens hair
🍒Some advice: I would start from the bottom up and leave roots for last, because my roots were sooo bright since I had box hair dye in the rest of my hair so my roots are hot lol
🍒I then waited 35 minutes with it on and showered.
🍒I used shampoo by John Frieda in Radiant Red and then dried my hair with a towel.
🍒I then used the after color treatment on my damp, towel dried hair and left it on for 4-5 minutes and rinsed.
🍒I then used the conditioner by John Frieda in Radiant Red afterwards.
🍒I then dried and styled :)
🍒I take color showers for the hair to stay bright and as long as you’re using a red shampoo and conditioner, your color should stick
⭐️Overall rating: 100000/10
I spent $53 at Sally’s for the HiColors, Developer, Ion Booster, Aftercare and mixing bowl with jumbo tint brush.
I then spent $20 on the shampoo and conditioner
Total: $73
If you’re considering trying L’Oréal Paris HiColor in Cherry Cola, here are some extra tips from my experience to make your hair transition smoother and richer: First, starting with a base of box-dyed hair can give you varying results at roots versus lengths. I recommend applying the dye from the bottom up and finishing with the roots so you can control the brightness there better and avoid overly intense patches. Also, while I mixed the developer and dyes by eye, it's generally a good idea to follow the recommended developer-to-dye ratios in the instructions to ensure even color payoff and protect hair integrity. For anyone with a sensitive scalp like me, the Ion 30 Volume Developer worked perfectly without irritating my skin. It’s comforting to use products designed to be gentle, especially when applying color directly on scalp areas. One key to keeping that cherry red vivid is using color-safe shampoos and conditioners. I chose John Frieda’s Radiant Red products, which helped maintain brightness without washing out the vibrancy quickly. Don’t skip the after-color treatments—the moisturizing boosters and conditioners help lock in color and strengthen hair after the chemical process. These steps can seem small but can hugely impact the longevity and health of your dyed hair. Lastly, although the upfront cost around $73 might seem high, invest in quality products and tools like mixing bowls and brushes to get salon-worthy results at home. The process was really fun and rewarding, worth every penny for that bold cherry cola look!
