This sentence broke my self-worth…💔
There’s a specific kind of wound that comes from being told…
“You wouldn’t be where you are without me.”
Especially when it came from the same person who hurt you.
For a long time, I carried the belief that I was only “okay” because someone else pushed me, forced me, or controlled me into becoming better.
That without them… I would’ve failed.
That I was incapable on my own.
That I needed someone to stay on me, or I’d fall apart.
And that belief?
It didn’t motivate me… it broke me.
Because it made me feel powerless in my own life.
But here’s the truth I had to reparent within myself:
✨ Yes, there may have been external pressure.
✨ Yes, there were circumstances that shaped my path.
But it was MY strength that got me through it.
It was MY resilience that kept me going when things felt unbearable.
It was MY spirit that chose not to give up.
It was MY perseverance—guided by God—that carried me forward.
No one gets to take credit for the strength it took you to survive what hurt you.
You are not a product of control.
You are a product of your endurance.
And if you’ve ever been made to feel like you’d be nothing without someone else…
This is your reminder:
You didn’t make it this far because of them.
You made it this far in spite of them.
And that power?
It’s always been yours. 🤍
