Grieving the Parent you Needed❤️‍🩹

Some chapters don’t just tell a story… they hold a grief many of us didn’t even realize we were carrying.

This sneak peek from my upcoming memoir, Whispers of the Wounded Self – Inner Child & Teen Healing Guide, touches on something deeply personal:

✨ grieving the parent you needed… but never truly had

✨ releasing the hope that they will one day become that version

✨ and learning how to give that love back to yourself instead

This book isn’t just about what I went through —

it’s about what so many of us felt but didn’t have the words for.

Inside these pages, you’ll begin to:

– recognize the survival responses you developed just to feel safe

– understand how those patterns followed you into adulthood

– gently reprocess those moments through a healing lens

And most importantly…

You’ll be guided through:

💜 reparenting your inner child with compassion

💜 affirmations to rebuild your sense of worth and safety

💜 journal prompts to help you safely express what’s been held in for far too long

Because healing isn’t just about remembering…

it’s about finally being able to feel, understand, and release.

If this resonates, just know — you’re not alone in this.

And you were never asking for too much.

🕊️ You were asking for what you deserved.

From personal experience, I found that acknowledging the loss—not just of the parent we had but the one we wished for—was a crucial first step toward healing. The hope that our parents would change and become the caregivers we needed often keeps us stuck in cycles of pain and unmet expectations. Facing the reality that they may never fulfill that role allows us to redirect that energy inward, fostering self-compassion and acceptance. I began by identifying survival responses I had developed during childhood. These behaviors, while protective then, often interfere with healthy adult relationships and self-esteem. Recognizing these patterns enabled me to understand how they were limiting my growth. The process of reparenting my inner child was transformative. Through affirmations and gentle self-talk, I began to offer the unconditional love and safety I yearned for. Journaling helped me express feelings I had suppressed for years, fostering a sense of release and clarity. Healing is not linear—it involves revisiting difficult emotions with kindness and patience. Integrating these practices into daily life has empowered me to reclaim my sense of worth and build healthier emotional boundaries. If you resonate with this experience, know that you're not alone. Many have walked this path of grief and self-healing. Giving yourself the love you deserved as a child is a profound act of courage and strength, opening the door to genuine emotional freedom.
