Beat Anxiety

If you have not watched the new Inside Out movie please watch it. I will not spoil it for you but just say that it gives a great representation of how it feels to have anxiety and being able to see it on the screen made me realize how real it is.

Even though you can physical grasp anxiety there are ways you can beat it. I do not deal with anxiety on the daily yet there are really random moments I will experience it strongly.

Here are ways I deal with it!

Accept it. I take a moment to breath and focus on what is going on. Once I realize that I am experiencing anxiety I accept it. By accepting that I am experiencing anxiety i have a higher chance of beating it.

Separate from my thoughts. Most of the time I get anxiety is when I am overthinking. It is very important to take time to separate yourself from your thoughts. Name your overthinking, write it down. Do not stay in your head.

Stay in reality. I do this by focusing on what is my reality in the moment. I look at my surrounding and describe to my self my reality in the moment. This helps me focus on what is truly in my presence. I also pray this really help s me distinguish the truth over the lies.
