HOW TEA HEALS ME
I am definitely a coffee girly over tea yet after learning so many benefits of tea I decided to give it a chance and I love it now.
I now love taking it during my period. I make an effort to take it more often during this time because it is the time I feel less like myself. Low energy, brain fog, achy and bloated.
My top 3 teas to drink are Turmeric Tea, Green Tea, and Chamomile Tea.
Here is what they have helped me with.
1. Chamomile tea helps me with my bloating, digestion, and inflammation. I experienced all of these during my period.
2. Green tea always gives me the energy boost I lack during my period. I replace coffee with tea since coffee can dehydrate you and I try to avoid that during my period.
3. Turmeric tea helps me with my headaches. I almost always get headaches during my period so taking this tea is very helpfu
Since discovering the magic of tea for my period symptoms, I've been diving deeper into the world of 'tea cycling'—and it's not just about what you drink during your period! The idea is to support your body through each phase of your menstrual cycle with different herbal teas. While I initially focused on the menstrual phase, I'm excited to share what I've learned and what I'm looking forward to incorporating into my routine. During the follicular phase, right after your period ends, your energy starts to pick up. This is a great time to focus on teas that support energy and mental clarity. I've heard great things about incorporating more Lipton Green Tea, not just for that gentle energy boost but also for its antioxidants. Some women also find raspberry leaf tea beneficial during this phase for uterine health, though I haven't tried it myself yet! As you approach ovulation, your energy often peaks. This might be a good time for teas that support liver function, like dandelion root, to help process hormones efficiently. I'm still exploring this phase, but I'm thinking about teas that keep digestion smooth and energy stable. Ensuring good digestion is key throughout the entire cycle, so a mild peppermint tea could also be a good addition here. Then comes the luteal phase, often known for PMS symptoms. This is where I've already seen huge benefits with chamomile for bloating and turmeric for those pesky headaches. But I'm also looking into peppermint tea for further digestive comfort, and even ginger tea for its warming properties and to soothe any potential nausea. The goal is to keep calm and carry on before your period officially starts! And finally, the menstrual phase itself, which my current routine already addresses beautifully with chamomile for inflammation, green tea for energy without the coffee jitters, and turmeric tea for headache relief. It's truly a time for comforting, nourishing teas that help you rest and recover. I often find myself reaching for my Trader Joe's Chamomile Herbal Tea during this time, it's just so soothing! Speaking of tea, I have to give a special shout-out to the Trader Joe's Chamomile Herbal Tea. It's truly a staple in my period survival kit. It's not just any chamomile; I find this particular brand to be incredibly calming and effective. The simple ritual of brewing a cup from the Trader Joe's Chamomile Herbal Tea box has become a comforting part of my routine. I find it really helps to settle my stomach, reduce that uncomfortable bloated feeling, and surprisingly, it even helps me unwind when my period stress starts to build. What I love about this specific tea is its mild, pleasant flavor – not too overpowering. It's become my go-to for inflammation relief and definitely aids in digestion during those days when everything feels a bit off. If you're looking to try chamomile for your period symptoms, grabbing a Trader Joe's Chamomile Herbal Tea box is a fantastic starting point. It's affordable, widely available, and has genuinely made a difference for me. Paired with Lipton Green Tea for that gentle energy boost, these two are my dynamic duo!
