Feeling dizzy?
Why did I decide to specialise in helping patients suffering from #dizziness symptoms? Find out more about what led me down this path and to writing my book #dealingwithdizziness
Living with chronic dizziness can feel isolating and frustrating, especially when diagnosis and treatments seem elusive. Many patients experience what they describe simply as "headaches" or balance issues, but underlying dizziness can often be underestimated or misdiagnosed as it is a complex symptom with multiple causes. From personal experience working with patients, I've seen that chronic dizziness often goes unrecognized because it doesn’t always fit neatly into conventional diagnostic categories. Many individuals are told there is "nothing wrong," leaving them without relief or clear guidance. This is why I chose to specialize in this area—to bridge that gap in understanding and care. Through my work and research, including studies conducted at universities and institutes, it became evident that people experiencing persistent dizziness are part of a largely underserved population. The lack of specific treatment plans motivated me to author a book focused on practical exercises and approaches for healing and managing dizziness symptoms. One key insight is that dizziness isn't just about balance—it can affect facial sensations, headaches, and overall quality of life. Treatment is not a one-size-fits-all, and effective care involves understanding the patient's unique experience and combining manual therapy with tailored exercises. If you or someone you know suffers from chronic dizziness without a clear diagnosis, it's important to seek specialists familiar with dizziness as a specific condition. With proper assessment, education, and supportive therapies, many patients find significant improvement, enabling them to return to their daily activities with confidence.
