Winter Dry Skin routine
Oh how I love the winter, but the winter is disrespectful to my skin lol. I have always been a combination skin kind of girl but the winter dry air leaves me dry like an alligator.
I finally found the perfect remedy for my skin and it doesn’t leave me oily or dry 20 minutes after applying. I’m excited to share this with you.
💦1. I never dry off completely. I leave my skin a little moist. I start with your rough places. Your heels, elbows, knees will sometimes have extra dead skin that needs to be shaved down or exfoliated. Apply cocoa butter, African shea butter to those hard areas. 👠Ladies if you use the shea butter on your feet, your feet won’t be ashy from your heels rubbing on your feet.
🧴2. Using lotion and body oil is your preference. Sometimes I only use the cocoa butter or shea butter and other times I’ll apply oil and lotion as well. I would advise to go light on the oil so your skin doesn’t feel over saturated. Apply light oil on your legs and arms.
🧈3. Next I add my body butter. I love a light fragrance body butter that leaves your skin so smooth. I apply it to my chest, stomach, arms , legs, and glute area.
My favorite since 2018 is the body butter from my favorite seafood restaurant in Virginia Beach. Yes I said restaurant lol. 2 Friends body almond body makes your body smell fresh and leaves your skin smooth.
🧴4. When I am not using the almond body butter I use the Hemp argon oil body moisturizer lotion. This lotion is just as smooth as the body butter and has a tropical smell. The moisture lasts all day. You won’t need to add more.
🌺5. After all this you will smell amazing. Now you can add your favorite body spray or body oil . A light spray over your body with a body mist will do the trick. Place the oils on your wrists, neck, a little in the chest area, light stomach area both thighs and ankles. You only need a small rub . It will mix perfect with your lotion routine.
💕That’s it folks! This is a routine that has worked for me the best. I hope it works for you as well. Comment below if this works for you and if you have your own routine.

As winter approaches, many experience dry, flaky skin due to harsh cold weather. Combining products like African Shea Butter and moisturizing body oils can hydrates and protects against environmental damage. Moisturizers enriched with natural oils, like Argan oil, not only provide hydration but also enhance the skin's barrier. It's essential to apply these products immediately after bathing to trap moisture effectively. Additionally, regular exfoliation is key; consider using a gentle scrub on rough areas to remove dead skin and allow for better absorption of moisturizers. For those looking for a long-lasting scent and hydration, body butters infused with fragrant oils can be ideal. Brands like 2 Friends body butter offer unique blends, while products from local stores, like salons, usually provide tailored options for various skin types. Finally, don't forget the importance of internal hydration—drinking plenty of water is crucial for maintaining skin health during the cold, dry months. Try implementing these strategies into your winter skincare routine to achieve smooth, soft, and glowing skin all season long.
