That’s why we need Jesus

Just like that quote, 'I never want to be the kind of Christian who portrays themselves as perfect. I have flaws and I have struggles that's why I need Jesus.' This really resonates with me because it's so true. We're all human, and perfection is an impossible standard. Life throws so much our way – doubts, anxieties, moments where we just don't feel 'good enough.' Maybe it's a bad habit we can't shake, a harsh word we regret, or just that nagging feeling of not measuring up to expectations, our own or others'. These are the very real struggles that make us realize we can't do it alone. It's in these vulnerable spaces that God's grace truly shines. For me, understanding that Jesus came not for the perfect, but for the imperfect, was a game-changer. It’s not about earning His love or cleaning ourselves up before we approach Him; it’s about coming as we are, messy bits and all. He sees past our imperfections to the heart He created. That's why He's truly our perfect Savior who cleanses and renews us. And this journey of renewal isn't something we navigate solo. This is where the Holy Spirit becomes such a vital part of our daily walk. Think of the Holy Spirit as our divine guide and comforter, always there to whisper wisdom, offer strength when we feel weak, and gently convict us when we stray. When I'm feeling lost or overwhelmed by my own shortcomings, I often pray for the Holy Spirit to guide my thoughts and actions, helping me to reflect Christ's love more authentically. It's like having a constant, loving presence reminding you of God's unfailing grace. What does 'being cleaned up and renewed' really look like in everyday life? It's not a sudden transformation into a flawless person overnight. It's more of a continuous process, a daily surrender. It's choosing forgiveness over grudges, patience over anger, and love over judgment. It's that quiet peace you feel after confessing a mistake, or the surge of courage to apologize. It's seeing situations with new eyes, understanding that even our mistakes can be used for growth when we bring them to God. Each morning feels like a fresh start, a new opportunity to lean into His grace and allow the Holy Spirit to work within me. I've personally experienced moments where I felt completely unworthy, but then, through prayer and reflection, I felt an undeniable sense of peace and acceptance. That's the Holy Spirit affirming God's love, reminding me that His grace is sufficient. It's not about being perfect, but about continually striving to live a life that honors Him, knowing He's there to pick me up every single time I stumble. So, if you're like me and you're not perfect (who is, really?), know that you are exactly who God desires. Embrace your journey, acknowledge your struggles, and remember that our need for Jesus is precisely what makes His grace so powerful and real. Let the Holy Spirit empower you to live authentically, flaws and all, knowing that true beauty lies in our reliance on a perfect God.
