Being Single As a Christian

Spending time with God

The best thing about being single as a Christian is you have all the time to spend with God. Learn about God. Let him teach you about your purpose and your role in this life. Focusing on God will allow you to look within yourself, heal, grow spiritually.

Live life to the fullest, you are SINGLE, you don’t have to answer to nobody but God ofc 😗🫶🏾, go take that trip, go take yourself out, buy yourself that gift. Love on yourself and love on life that God gives you.

Being single allows you learn your likes and dislikes, explore and gain experiences. Being by yourself opens the door on self love and self care, gaining that confidence and connection to yourself.

Don’t let anyone put any pressure on you or put the expectation that you need someone or you have to be in a relationship. LOVE YOU first and develop yourself first. Take your time and don’t rush into anything you are not ready for which brings me to my next point

Singleness is not a curse, just because you are not married or haven’t gotten your spouse yet. Don’t worry. I know there is a lot of idolization over marriage and thinking marriage is an end goal. It is not! Marriage is NOT an UPGRADE from singleness. Singleness and having that oneness with God is important and actually was established FIRST. God created Adam first, Adam was single and alone before Eve showed up. God honors and loves singleness! So you embrace it!!

... Read moreEmbracing singleness as a Christian can truly be a transformative journey, offering unique opportunities for growth and a deeper connection with God. I remember feeling the societal pressure to find 'the one,' but through my own experience, I've learned that singleness is far from a curse—it's a season God can use powerfully for His glory and our good. One of the most incredible aspects is the freedom to truly spend time with God. Without the demands of a partner or family, you have an unparalleled chance to dive into His Word, linger in prayer, and truly listen to His voice. For me, this has meant setting aside dedicated mornings for Bible study, joining a faith-based community group, and even silent retreats. These moments aren't just about obligation; they're about building an intimate relationship, allowing Him to teach you about your purpose and your role in this life. It’s during these times I’ve felt a renewed sense of hope of heaven, understanding that my ultimate fulfillment isn't found in a relationship, but in Christ alone. This season is also a golden opportunity to live life to the fullest. What adventures have you postponed? What dreams have you put on hold? God has given us this life to experience joy and wonder. I've found so much joy in taking that solo trip I always dreamed of, learning a new skill, or simply enjoying God's creation. It’s about cultivating a rich, fulfilling life right now, not waiting for someone else to make it happen. And yes, definitely learn about yourself! What are your passions? Your quirks? Your strengths? Singleness provides the space for self-discovery, building confidence, and fostering self-love. It’s a journey of becoming the best version of yourself, rooted in God's love. It's easy to feel the weight of expectations from family, friends, or even within the church. But remember: don't rush or let anyone put expectations on you. Your worth and completeness are not tied to marital status. God established singleness before marriage, and He honors it. I've had to gently remind myself and others that my journey is mine, guided by God's timing, not by external pressures. This season allows for incredible spiritual growth and focus, enabling you to invest wholeheartedly in ministries, personal development, or even global missions without distraction. For my fellow single Christian women, know that your strength, wisdom, and devotion are cherished by God. The Bible is full of powerful women who served God faithfully, some single, some married, all with unique callings. You are not incomplete; you are whole in Christ, capable of impacting the world for His kingdom. Embrace this time as a unique blessing, a period to deepen your faith, pursue your passions, and truly thrive in God's abundant grace. Because ultimately, being single is not a curse; it's a sacred space to grow, connect, and live out your purpose with abandon.
