LPN COLLEGE LIFE 🩺

Starting LPN school was exciting, but the reality of nursing exam preparation hit hard! I quickly learned that success wasn't just about attending lectures; it was about smart study habits and effective strategies. My journey often involved long hours in the library, surrounded by NCLEX-PN examination review books and HESI Live Review Workbooks. I found that breaking down complex topics like CHF treatment into manageable chunks made a huge difference. Recalling those projector screens displaying detailed notes on 'CARDIAC BIOMARKERS' – Troponin, CK-MB, Myoglobin, and BNP – brings back memories. Understanding their ranges and significance was crucial for answering questions correctly. I'd create flashcards and draw diagrams to solidify my understanding. My handwritten nursing notes on Diabetes Insipidus and Diabetes Mellitus were invaluable. I'd spend time comparing and contrasting them, focusing on the pathophysiology and how they manifest clinically. This helped tremendously with application-based questions. Dosage questions, like the one about Dilantin (phenytoin) capsules, always felt high-stakes. My trick was to practice, practice, practice! Setting up the problem correctly using dimensional analysis saved me from many errors. Double-checking my calculations, especially for critical medications, became second nature. Questions about conditions like a client with a T6 injury experiencing autonomic hyperreflexia were particularly challenging. I learned to assess the client thoroughly, starting with basics like checking for a distended bladder, which is often the culprit. Understanding the 'why' behind the interventions was key. While the "Please No Food in the Library" sign was a constant reminder, having a dedicated space, whether a classroom or a quiet corner, was essential for deep focus. I'd often review notes from classroom sessions, especially those focusing on HESI exam preparation. Don't just memorize; understand! Use study groups, utilize online resources, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Regular self-assessment with practice questions, like those covering CHF treatment, helps identify weak areas. My LPN journey taught me resilience and the importance of thorough nursing exam preparation. With dedication and the right strategies, you too can conquer your HESI and NCLEX-PN exams. You've got this!
