Bed-Time Hack
My three year old would generally fight bed-time until recently.
The new routine once we’ve put him in bed for nighty-nighty is that we read 2-3 books. I then put on an episode of “The Joy of Painting” with Bob Ross.
He’s generally out like a light after about half an episode.
He also has been asking to color a lot more than usual lately and says he wants to be a painter. It’s a win in my book 📖 🎨
Many parents struggle with bedtime routines, often facing resistance from little ones. Establishing a consistent routine is essential. Consider incorporating calming activities like reading books and artistic expression, which not only promotes relaxation but also encourages creativity. Bob Ross’ soothing painting videos serve as a perfect backdrop, allowing children to unwind while being inspired to color and create. As children engage in these bedtime activities, it promotes a love for reading and art, essential skills for their development. Moreover, discussing the themes of the stories can enhance your child's imagination and cognitive skills. Utilize child-friendly techniques such as 'bedtime fairy tales' or 'colorful dream discussions' to delve into their thoughts and feelings before sleeping. By adopting these practices, sleep transitions become smoother, contributing to better sleep hygiene for your little one. Explore different bedtime stories that emphasize positive behavior and creativity, and watch as your child grows more excited for bedtime each night.
