For nearly 20 years in Georgia and now in Texas, I’ve served in cross-cultural music ministry and worship leadership. God has allowed me to teach, worship, and build sacred friendships across church and Jewish learning spaces. Music has been the bridge, and stewardship the call. Perhaps it’s time to write the book.
Having spent close to two decades serving in both Georgia and Texas, I’ve found that music ministry offers a unique opportunity to connect diverse communities and cultures. In particular, working across church and Jewish learning settings revealed the profound role that music plays as a universal language, helping to break down barriers and foster genuine relationships. One key lesson I learned is that stewardship goes beyond managing resources—it involves nurturing the spiritual growth and unity of the community through worship. Music becomes a bridge that not only enhances worship experiences but also encourages mutual respect and understanding. Building sacred friendships within these diverse spaces required openness and humility. It meant appreciating different traditions while finding common ground in worship practices. This cross-cultural engagement deeply enriched my leadership approach and inspired me to consider authoring a book to share these insights. For anyone involved in ministry, embracing diversity and cultivating meaningful relationships can breathe new life into worship. Music ministry, when coupled with dedicated stewardship, can powerfully shape inclusive faith communities that celebrate cultural richness and shared devotion.
