Whoever dwells in the secret place of the Most High
shall remain secure, fixed, and at rest
under the shadow of the Almighty—
the One whose power no enemy can withstand.
I say of the Lord:
You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust with confidence.
Surely, He delivers me
from hidden traps and unseen dangers,
from every destructive force and deadly pestilence.
He covers me with His presence;
I am sheltered under His wings—
His faithfulness surrounds me
as a shield and a wall of protection.
I will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the darkness that creeps unseen,
nor the destruction that strikes at noonday.
Even if thousands fall around me,
and ten thousand at my side,
it will not come near me—
I remain untouched and preserved.
Because I have made the Lord my dwelling place,
no evil overtakes me,
no harm comes near my life.
He commands His Angels concerning me
to guard me in all my ways—
they lift me up,
so I do not stumble.
I walk in authority over every threat—
nothing has power to overcome me.
Because I love Him, He rescues me.
Because I know His Name, He sets me on high.
When I call, He answers me—
He is with me in trouble,
He delivers me and honors me.
With long life, He satisfies me
and reveals His salvation.
