God Already Shut It Down | Isaiah 8:10
This morning during my 15-minute phone call with Dad, Isaiah 8:10 stopped me in my tracks.
At first, I honestly thought,
“Lord… why is this here today?”
But once I slowed down and really read it, I realized this verse isn’t quiet encouragement — it’s God speaking with authority.
Isaiah 8:10 is God telling the world system, the enemy, and every scheme formed against His people:
Go ahead.
Make your plans.
Try your strategies.
They still won’t stand.
Why?
Because God is with us.
And then — tucked right into this passage — is the reminder of Immanuel.
God with us.
The prophecy that later shows up in the Christmas story.
Which means Christmas isn’t just cozy lights and pretty wrapping (even though I LOVE all of that — especially the cookies 🍪).
For believers, Christmas is a victory announcement.
God didn’t send a plan.
He sent Himself.
And because He is with us, no enemy scheme gets the final word.
So today, as I wrote Isaiah 8:10 in my planner, I didn’t just copy the verse — I declared it.
Every plan against me will fail.
Every strategy will collapse.
Because Immanuel — God with us — is here.
