Shit happens to everyone!

Life is full of unexpected challenges, and it’s easy to forget that everyone around us is dealing with their own battles. From financial stress to personal loss or mental health struggles, no one’s life is perfectly smooth. I’ve found that reminding myself of this reality helps me cultivate more empathy and patience in everyday interactions. For example, at work I used to get frustrated quickly when colleagues missed deadlines or seemed irritable, but then I learned they were going through tough times outside the office. Pausing before judging others means recognizing that people may be fighting invisible wars, and this perspective changes how we relate to others. Another aspect is accepting our own challenges without guilt or self-criticism. When bad things happen—whether it's a setback, failure, or loss—acknowledging that "shit happens to everyone" helps us move forward without harsh self-judgment. Life’s unpredictability is a shared human experience. Incorporating this mindset has improved my mental well-being and strengthened relationships, as I approach others with kindness rather than criticism. It’s a reminder that compassion starts with understanding that no one has it easy, and everyone deserves dignity as they navigate their struggles.
