This sample set I will give a 6/10. Some of the scents smelled like linen room sprays. I bought this to test out the sparkling sugar scent. I am wanting to buy it but was curious about its longevity. Radiant Nectar was a nice one also. Warm Cotton was given Gain detergent. If you like really clean scents then this one is for you!

... Read moreEmbarking on a fragrance journey can be so exciting, and getting a Clean Reserve sample set felt like unwrapping a little treasure chest. I remember opening the white box, seeing those eight delicate pink vials – Warm Cotton, Radiant Nectar, Sparkling Sugar, and more – all lined up, promising new scent adventures. It’s truly the best way to explore without committing to a full bottle right away, especially when you're curious about a specific scent like Radiant Nectar.
Speaking of Radiant Nectar, it was definitely one of the stars of this set for me. The original article mentioned it, and I have to agree – it really stood out. It's described as a blend of pear, ambrette, and musk, creating this beautifully luminous and slightly sweet aroma that isn't cloying. I was specifically keen to test its longevity, which is always a big factor for me before I consider splurging on a full Clean Reserve perfume bottle. On my skin, it settled into a lovely, warm, and inviting scent that lasted for a good 5-6 hours, making a strong case for a future full-size purchase. It felt much more sophisticated than some other 'sweet' fragrances I've tried.
Then there's Warm Cotton. Oh, Warm Cotton! While the original review noted it felt like 'Gain detergent,' I think that's precisely its charm for some. If you’re like me and sometimes crave that freshly laundered, comforting, clean scent, this one hits the mark. It's not complex, but it's undeniably pleasant and reassuring. Sparkling Sugar, on the other hand, was a playful, effervescent surprise. It has this juicy, sweet quality, like candied berries, with a hint of musk. It’s lighthearted and fun, perfect for a sunny day.
Now, I know many people also ask about Clean Reserve Skin. While it wasn't in my particular sample set, it's another incredibly popular scent from the Clean Beauty Collective that's often recommended if you love 'your skin but better' fragrances. From what I’ve heard and read, Skin is all about a warm, comforting, almost musky embrace – like a soft, clean hug. It’s supposed to be incredibly versatile and subtle, making it a great everyday choice for those who prefer something understated. If you're exploring the Clean Reserve line, it's definitely one to look out for, especially if you enjoy scents similar to Radiant Nectar's soft musk dry-down.
These sample sets are fantastic for spotting those subtle nuances. I bought mine from Marshall’s for a great deal at $14.99, compared to the $30.00 at Sephora. It just goes to show it pays to look around! Testing a perfume on your own skin over several days, seeing how it reacts to your body chemistry and lasts through your daily activities, is crucial. What might smell like a 'linen room spray' on one person could be a delightful, unique signature scent on another. It's a journey of discovery, and that's what I love about exploring fragrances with these little vials. Ultimately, while this set had its hits and misses, it was an invaluable way to truly understand the Clean Reserve brand's offerings and decide which full Clean Reserve perfume bottles might eventually find a permanent spot on my vanity.
