As I’m reviewing my notes from Church this note stuck out to me. We live in times where we feel entitled to things but in reality what we are entitled to is helping others and sharing His word. Humility measure everything it does by the treatment of others. It’s about WE not me.
In Philippians 2:3-4, we are reminded of the essence of humility: 'Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.' This passage calls for a shift in our attitude towards entitlement and individualism. In a society that often glorifies self-interest, these teachings encourage us to prioritize the needs of others. Embracing humility isn't just about personal virtue; it's about fostering community, compassion, and cooperation. We are challenged to reflect on how our actions affect those around us and to prioritize helping others in our daily interactions. Furthermore, the importance of serving others as expressed in Philippians resonates deeply in our contemporary context. By sharing our resources, time, and love, we can make a significant impact on our communities. Whether it's volunteering, supporting those in need, or simply offering a listening ear, these acts of kindness contribute to collective well-being and reinforce the idea that it’s about 'WE' rather than 'me.' As we reflect on the message from Philippians, let us strive to cultivate a mindset of humility and service. This not only enriches our own lives but also inspires a ripple effect of kindness and generosity in the world around us.
