Decided it’s not my fault

1 week agoEdited to

... Read moreFalling in love repeatedly can feel like an emotional rollercoaster, especially when relationships don't turn out as hoped. I’ve often found myself caught in a cycle where my heart leads me into connections that don’t last, causing me to question what went wrong. A realization that truly changed my perspective is embracing the idea that it’s not always my fault. Love is complex, influenced by timing, compatibility, and personal growth, and sometimes outcomes are simply beyond our control. Adopting this mindset has helped me release unnecessary guilt and self-blame. Instead of dwelling on what I could have done differently, I now focus on appreciating the experiences for what they taught me about myself and what I value in a partner. This self-compassion nurtures resilience, making it easier to open up to love again without fear. Another key insight is that falling in love is a valid and natural human response—it's a courageous act of vulnerability rather than a mistake. Acknowledging this shifts the narrative from failure to growth. Sharing this with close friends who also navigate similar experiences has reinforced that we all deserve kindness from ourselves, especially when it comes to matters of the heart. In moving forward, I've learned to trust my feelings while setting healthy boundaries, understanding that it’s okay to protect my emotional well-being. Loving yourself first is not selfish; it paves the way for healthier, more fulfilling relationships. If you find yourself caught in the same cycle, remember: it’s valid to fall for love, and it’s okay to decide it’s not your fault when things don’t work out.

Things I do to be more proactive and not reactive
