I’m starting Tougen Anki, I saw it on Tubi today and decided to give it a watch. It’s 1 season with 24 episodes. I’m liking it so far as the story goes; it’s a tale of good v evil, but from the “bag guys” point of view. The Momotaro is hunting the Oni, and we follow the Oni MC who was living a normal life and just learning about his bloodline and powers. It makes you question the “good guys” The Momotaro and the “bad guys” The Oni sides of the age-old conflict between the two. Who is really the good guy or bad guy in this situation? Are all Oni bad? Are the Momotaro just heartless hunters? I’m 12 episodes in so far, so I’ll see how it ends and put my final thoughts in comments.

Watching 12 episodes so far, I found myself rooting for the Oni and curious about how the story will conclude. For anime fans looking for something different from the usual hero narrative, Tougen Anki is definitely worth a watch on Tubi. It offers not just action and fantasy but also a narrative that challenges your assumptions about morality and perspective.
💛I finished the show and enjoyed meeting these characters. I definitely liked the crew going to Nerima and seeing how the Momo Agency operates, with surveillance, as the Oni Agency did with intelligence gathering. I love learning more about the world, since both sides have cool powers. I’m happy our guy Shiki made a friend in Mikado and for the time being were cool. It’s unfortunate due to a misunderstanding/manipulation they had to fight. Yes one is Oni and other a Momo, but I was still rooting for them to be cool and maybe after the fight could still be cool. I’m hopeful for a season 2 to see the rest of the Oni crew classmates grow and get more involved.
