... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to dive deeper into something that completely changed my Sekiro experience: mastering stealth combat. When I first started, I thought it was all about parrying and dodging, but once I embraced the 'shinobi' aspect of Wolf, the game opened up in a whole new way. It's not just about avoiding fights; it's about setting yourself up for success, making challenging encounters much more manageable. One of the biggest game-changers for me was really utilizing the environment. I learned to hug walls constantly. Seriously, it's like a superpower! Being able to stick to cover, peek around corners, and listen to enemy conversations via eavesdropping gives you such a massive advantage. You can often learn about patrols, hidden enemies, or even weaknesses before you even engage. I remember struggling with a particular group of enemies in Ashina Outskirts until I realized I could hug wall my way around them, taking out half of them silently before the main brawl. It felt incredibly satisfying! Another essential tactic is understanding the 'one-shot' stealth deathblow. For most standard enemies, getting behind them unnoticed means an instant kill, or at least one health bar gone for tougher foes. This is crucial for conserving your limited Healing Gourd charges. Instead of rushing in and trading blows, I always try to identify at least one or two enemies I can eliminate silently. Using tall grass, ledges, and even the verticality of areas like Ashina Castle allows for some truly cinematic stealth takedowns. Don't underestimate the power of dropping down on an unsuspecting enemy! But stealth isn't just about avoiding detection; it's about shaping the battlefield. Sometimes, you can't avoid a fight entirely, but a successful stealth approach changes the entire dynamic. Imagine facing a mini-boss with two health bars. If you can sneak up and get one stealth deathblow, you've already won half the battle before the real fight even begins. This applies to many of the game's toughest encounters. Patience is truly a virtue here. Watch enemy patterns, learn their routes, and wait for that perfect opening. And let's talk about useful items. Ako's Sugar became my best friend for those moments when stealth transitions into combat. Popping an Ako's Sugar right before initiating a stealth deathblow on a tougher enemy, or right after, gives you that extra attack power boost to finish them off quickly. It's all about maximizing your damage output in those critical windows. And of course, the Healing Gourd is always there, but better to save those sips for when you truly need them, which stealth helps you do! My personal advice? Don't be afraid to experiment. If a frontal assault isn't working, take a step back, look for alternative paths, and consider how you can use stealth to thin the ranks or get that crucial first hit. Sekiro rewards cleverness and strategic thinking just as much as it does pure combat skill. Embracing your inner shinobi and becoming 'Sneaky-Ro' will not only make the game more enjoyable but also significantly increase your chances of survival. Trust me, it made a huge difference for me!
