WE FINALLY BEAT the Guardian Ape |Boss Fight|

Okay, fellow Sekiro warriors, let's talk about the Guardian Ape. This boss was a real wall for me, and after countless deaths, I finally found a strategy that clicked. I know many of you are searching for ways to conquer this grey, hairy ape-like boss, especially its relentless attacks and that terrifying red 'death' symbol in its second phase. My biggest breakthrough in Phase One came from understanding his attack patterns. This beast, roaring aggressively at every chance, can seem overwhelming. Many guides focus on deflecting, which is crucial, but I found that creating openings was just as important. When he does his long combo, try to deflect the initial swings, then dodge under his wide sweep. This often gives you a couple of crucial hits. And those infamous poop throws? Run perpendicular to him, and they'll usually miss. The key here is patience; don't get greedy. Use your Shinobi Firecrackers when he's stunned or in a vulnerable animation – it’s fantastic for interrupting his posture recovery and getting some free hits on his head. Remember how he slams his sword? Perfect deflect opportunities! Keep an eye on his posture bar and chip away at his health. Phase Two is where things get really interesting, and frankly, a lot scarier. The moment he picks up his head and that red 'death' symbol appears, you know it's serious. This phase is less about deflecting sword swings and more about avoiding his terror-inducing roars and deadly swipes. My go-to strategy here was the Spear prosthetic. After he performs his vertical overhead slam, he'll often slump forward, leaving his neck exposed. If you can grapple to him or run in quickly, use the Spear's pulling ability (R2, then R2 again) to literally pull out the centipede from his neck for massive posture damage! This was a game-changer for me. Also, be mindful of his terror scream; if you can't get behind him, sprint out of range or use a Pacifying Agent. Don't forget the umbrella for deflecting his terror scream if you're close! It took me dozens of attempts against this formidable foe in SEKIRO SHADOWS DIE TWICE, but focusing on these specific techniques made all the difference. Learning his tells, knowing when to be aggressive, and when to retreat, transformed the fight. If I, as the protagonist in my own struggle against this ape, can do it, you absolutely can too.
