Hey fellow hunters! 👋 I just had an epic encounter with Mizutsune in Monster Hunter Wilds, and I wanted to share some of my go-to strategies, especially for my Longsword mains out there. This monster is seriously graceful but can be a real pain with its bubbles if you're not prepared, so here's how I managed to conquer it! First off, understanding Mizutsune's moveset is crucial. Those bubble attacks are its signature, and they can really mess with your footing. It often uses a sweeping bubble beam or sends out smaller bubbles that linger. My tip? Keep an eye on its movements; it usually signals its bubble attacks with a distinctive stance. When it starts channeling, prepare to sidestep or use a well-timed dodge. Also, watch out for its tail slams and agile charges; it’s deceptively fast for its size. For us Longsword users, managing your Spirit Gauge is key to maximizing damage. I always aim to keep my gauge at red, and Spirit Charge is fantastic for building it up quickly when you have an opening. When Mizutsune roars or performs a predictable attack, that’s your cue for a perfectly timed Iai Spirit Slash. Landing this counter not only deals massive damage but also helps maintain your Spirit Gauge level. Another lifesaver is Foresight Whirl Slash; it's perfect for evading incoming damage while simultaneously striking back and boosting your gauge. Practice the timing, and you'll feel invincible! When Mizutsune is enraged, it becomes even more aggressive. This is where precise positioning and counters become even more important. Don't be afraid to use simpler attacks like a quick Thrust or Spirit Roundslash to chip away at its health and build your gauge for bigger combos. Make sure your weapon's Sharpness is maintained; nothing's worse than bouncing off Mizutsune’s scales mid-combo. I always carry a few Whetstones! For items, Shock Traps are incredibly effective. Mizutsune is quite susceptible to them, giving you precious seconds for some uncontested damage. Don’t forget basic healing items like Potions and Mega Potions. As for elemental weaknesses, Mizutsune is typically weak to Thunder and Dragon, so if you have a Longsword with that element, you'll see a noticeable difference in damage output. Always check your hunter's notes for the specific weaknesses in MH Wilds! Fighting Mizutsune is a dance of aggression and evasion. Stay patient, learn its tells, and don't get discouraged if you get hit by a few bubbles. With these tips and some practice, you'll be taking down the Bubble Fox Wyvern like a pro in no time!
