Pyro Spike Drawing

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a bit more about my latest Brawl Stars fan art, the Pyro Spike drawing that I posted! 🎨 It was such a blast bringing this fiery brawler to life on my canvas (or screen!). Pyro Spike has always been one of my favorites – his unique combination of a cute cactus and explosive personality makes him a super interesting character to sketch. When I started this piece, I really wanted to capture all the iconic details. You know, that vibrant blue and yellow suit that makes him instantly recognizable? And of course, those mischievous green eyes peeking out from under his red spiky hair. I spent quite a while perfecting the 'spiky' aspect, from his head to the little green spiky plant he often holds. It’s those small details that truly make the drawing feel authentic to the game. One of the things I experimented with this time was trying out a pixelated drawing style for one of the versions. It was a fun challenge to translate his smooth, cartoony design into a blockier, retro aesthetic. If you're into digital art like I am, playing around with different resolutions and brush textures can really change the whole vibe. For the background, I often lean towards something that complements the character, so I went for an orange textured background to give it that fiery, energetic feel Pyro Spike embodies. For anyone out there who's also a fan and thinking about trying their hand at drawing Brawl Stars characters, here are a few things I've learned along the way! First, always start with a good reference image. The game has so many amazing character models, and looking at them intently helps you get the proportions and details just right. Second, think about what makes the character *them*. For Spike, it's clearly his spiky texture and those big, expressive eyes. For Pyro Spike, it's adding that fiery flair and powerful stance. Focus on exaggerating those features slightly to give your drawing personality. Don't be afraid to freehand it at first, then refine with cleaner lines. Third, explore different mediums! Whether you're using traditional pencils and paper, or digital tools like I do with apps like Flipaclip (which is awesome for animation too, by the way!), each has its own charm. And don't be afraid to experiment with color palettes and blending techniques to really make your art pop. Learning how to blend colors for that textured look, especially for backgrounds, can make a huge difference. Lastly, and most importantly, have fun with it! Fan art is all about expressing your love for a game and its characters. Don't worry about perfection, just enjoy the process of creating something cool.
