The 'excess' that comes from being drunk with wine isn't just about losing control physically; it's about losing spiritual clarity, making poor choices, and pursuing fleeting pleasures that ultimately leave you feeling empty. In my own life, I've seen how easy it is to get 'drunk' on other things – social media validation, endless entertainment, chasing worldly success – all of which can lead to their own forms of 'excess' and distract me from what truly matters. Community: Surrounding myself with other believers who encourage and challenge me in my walk. Worship: Actively praising God, whether through music, nature, or simply acknowledging His goodness. This verse isn't just an ancient instruction; it's a living principle that profoundly shapes my existence. It encourages me to shed the 'excess' of anything that diminishes my spiritual well-being and instead embrace the enduring power and joy that comes from allowing the Holy Spirit to continually fill and direct my life. It's a journey, not a destination, and I'm continually learning to lean into it more each day.
