Spiritual Journey
So yay I’ve been wanting this Bible for a while and I was finally able to order it because I’ve been in need of a new Bible since I’ve had the same one since I was like 10.
This year I really want to grow in my spirituality and my relationship with God. I’ve been Christian my entire life grew up southern Baptist and so that’s what I’m used to but when I got to college I thought I would be able to grow in my spirituality on my own, and understand it for myself, but seeing as I went to a PWI private Christian university in South Carolina I just felt like my own religion was being forced on me and it wasn’t fun. And as I am experiencing this, I’m just thinking well like dang I wonder how all the queer students and students from other religions feel in having to take these classes as a required class and just feeling like something is being forced upon you every day.
As a Christian, you’re supposed to understand, learn and grow and I feel like I wasn’t able to do any of that at the school. I wanted the opportunity to take world religion because I feel like it’s really nice to know how to be respectful when it comes to other religions, I’m not saying that you have to convert there, but you would want them to be respectful of your Christian beliefs, so clearly you need to learn how to be respectful to others.
But that’s besides the point I got my Bible and I’m ready to start reading through the Bible and doing my Bible studies 🫶🏾

Embarking on a spiritual journey can be transformative, particularly when exploring your faith in a deeper way. Many individuals, like me, seek to reconnect with their beliefs or to understand different religions purely out of respect. In this context, the Bible serves as an essential tool for guidance and reflection. As I engage with the scriptures, I aim to not only deepen my understanding of Christianity but also learn how to appreciate and respect other faiths. It’s important to recognize that spiritual exploration can take many paths. Some may prefer traditional studies like Bible study groups, while others might find personal narratives or world religion classes enlightening. Learning about other beliefs enhances our perspective and fosters a more inclusive understanding of spirituality. Through my journey, I’ve realized that everyone’s experience with faith is unique. Especially in diverse educational settings, it’s crucial to engage in conversations about beliefs with openness and respect. We can honor our own traditions while remaining receptive to learning about others. By understanding the principles behind different religions, including the teachings found in the Bible, we can cultivate a peaceful coexistence and mutual respect within our communities. Our paths to spirituality might differ, but the pursuit of understanding remains a universal quest.
