New at Trader Joe’s 💛🧡🥭
💵 Price: $5 for two servings
For a slight cravings of sweet, I’d rate this a 7/10. It’s a snack portion but direction is to microwave it for 50 seconds, it’s good but I prefer my mangos to be cold for mango sticky rice
Have you guys tried? What are your thoughts?
Mango sticky rice is a beloved traditional Thai dessert that combines the creamy texture of sticky rice with the sweet, juicy flavor of mango. Trader Joe's version offers a convenient way to enjoy this dessert at home, especially appealing as it is vegan and gluten-free, making it accessible to many dietary preferences. From my experience, while microwaving the sticky rice makes it warm and comforting, I personally prefer eating it cold. The chilled mango enhances its refreshing sweetness and the texture of the sticky rice feels perfect when cool. This snack-sized portion is excellent for when you want a light treat without feeling too full. If you love experimenting with international desserts, this can be a great choice to satisfy your sweet tooth. It pairs wonderfully with a cup of jasmine tea or a light iced beverage. Plus, keeping it frozen until you're ready ensures freshness and makes it a handy dessert option for spontaneous cravings. For those new to mango sticky rice, it typically consists of glutinous rice cooked with coconut milk and sugar, topped with ripe mango slices. Trader Joe's version captures these essential flavors, and being vegan means no animal products, which is a bonus for plant-based eaters. I recommend trying it both microwaved and chilled to see which you prefer. And if you’re feeling adventurous, adding a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds or a drizzle of coconut cream can elevate the experience. Have you tried it yourself? Sharing your thoughts or tips can help others enjoy this treat even more!
