Seeing him break free from his family's dark influence and find his own path is one of the most compelling character arcs I’ve ever witnessed in anime. Their bond, often seen in those iconic adventure scenes, is truly special and makes them one of the best main character duos. And let's not forget Kurapika (Hunter Exam number 404). His story is much darker, driven by a quest for revenge against the Phantom Troupe for his clan's massacre. His intelligence, strategic mind, and the sheer depth of his pain make him such a fascinating character. When his eyes turn scarlet, you know things are about to get serious! He brings a more mature and intense dynamic to the main group, and his resolve is absolutely captivating. Finally, there's Leorio Paradinight (Hunter Exam number 403). He might seem like the comic relief or the least powerful at times, but his ambition to become a doctor to help others, and his unwavering loyalty to his friends, make him incredibly endearing. He’s the grounding force, the relatable human element among these extraordinary individuals. You can always count on Leorio to stand up for what's right, even if it means putting himself in danger. The way these four characters – Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio – interact and support each other is what truly elevates Hunter x Hunter (2011). I remember seeing an anime still, perhaps similar to one of those iconic main characters posters, where they're all looking forward with serious expressions, almost against a blurred green outdoor background. That image perfectly captures their collective resolve and the incredible adventures they embark on. Each character brings something unique, creating a rich tapestry of friendship, ambition, and intense battles. It's not just about who's 'strongest,' but how these distinct personalities develop and intertwine.
