After seeing that absolutely brutal impact, with his face severely distorted and flattened, and blood visible around his eyes and mouth, it’s hard not to think the worst. The scene was incredibly graphic, even for One Piece standards when it comes to non-main characters. But here's my personal take, and why I'm leaning towards a big fat NO on Charlos's demise. As a long-time fan, I know how Oda Sensei usually handles character deaths. They are rare, impactful, and often reserved for characters who have fulfilled their narrative purpose or made a significant sacrifice. Charlos, with his distinctive dark hat and striped green and yellow garment, is, let's be real, a character designed purely for comedic villainy and to highlight the corruption of the Celestial Dragons. While his 'flattened cartoon character' appearance was shocking, it also felt… cartoonish enough to be non-fatal in the One Piece universe. Think about it: how many times have we seen characters take seemingly fatal blows only to bounce back? Oda often uses exaggerated injuries to showcase power or drama without permanently removing characters from the story, especially those whose roles are more about pushing specific plot points or showcasing the world's injustices. If Charlos were to die, it would be a huge moment, and I just don't feel like this was it. It felt more like a dramatic statement about the consequences of arrogance and power, rather than a definitive farewell. Beyond Charlos's shocking moment, Episode 1118 offered so much more. We got to see the ongoing intensity of the Egghead arc, with various factions making their moves. I was particularly thrilled with the pacing and how different revelations are slowly unfolding. While some might be looking for specific 'Dhawanichugh leaks' or early spoilers, I honestly think experiencing the episode as it airs, and then processing these big moments, is half the fun. We also got some great moments with characters like Kawamatsu, whose presence and reactions always add a layer of depth to the Straw Hats' allies. Regarding that intriguing query about a 'one piece character distinctive hat two round symbols or circles died sacrifice,' it's interesting to consider how different character deaths are portrayed. Charlos's situation, despite his dark hat, is a far cry from a heroic sacrifice. His role is to be a despicable figure, and his 'near-death' experience serves to underscore the gravity of the situation and the courage of those who defy the Celestial Dragons, rather than immortalizing him as a martyr. I believe this incident will be a catalyst for further events, rather than a final chapter for the Celestial Dragon himself. It's all part of the grand tapestry Oda is weaving! I'm so excited to see how this plays out in future episodes. My personal theory is that Charlos will survive, perhaps with some severe injuries, only to return later, fueled by revenge or to further illustrate the impunity of the Celestial Dragons. What do you all think? Did he really bite the dust, or is this just another classic Oda tease?
