MOOD
So today I was promptly informed that my entire department at work is being shut down. I wish i could say that finding work as a Lvl 1 desktop support/technician would be easy. But it’s not. I’ll admit I saw the writing on the wall in October. Been job searching ever since. I’ve been thru several promising interviews but end up not getting offers and now I’m wondering if my boss has been working against me to keep me around.
If I gotta Instacart and drive Uber eats I’ll do it.
The experience of job loss can be overwhelming and disheartening. Many individuals in the tech sector, especially in roles like desktop support, may find themselves questioning their career stability amidst departmental shutdowns. For those grappling with such situations, exploring gig economy jobs through platforms like Instacart and Uber Eats can provide immediate financial relief. Utilizing these flexible work opportunities can help bridge the gap while searching for full-time roles. Additionally, engaging in networking and enhancing skills through online courses can improve prospects of landing a new position. Leveraging professional networking sites such as LinkedIn can also yield insights into the job market and connect you with potential opportunities. Remember, persistence and adaptability are key in navigating through these trying times.
