Meals I have on CHEAT DAYS while eating out✨
Everyone has their cheat days or even cheat meals! So here are some I have been enjoying lately while still staying on my weight loss journey 💖
I try not to worry about the calories I'm eating on cheat days, but also I try to make sure I don't over-do it. Listen to your body and don't eat too quickly so your body can tell you when you're full 😋
And remember... you deserve to eat the foods you love!! Everything is okay in moderation 💓💓💓
What are some of your favorite cheat day meals? Tell me in the comments!! 🍕

Okay, let's be real – sticking to a weight loss journey can be tough, and sometimes, you just need a delicious cheat meal! But the thought of eating out on a cheat day often fills us with dread, right? We want to enjoy ourselves without feeling like we’ve completely undone all our hard work. I totally get it, and I've been there! Over time, I've discovered some fantastic strategies to make my cheat days enjoyable and still align with my goals, especially when dining out. It's all about making smart choices and adopting a mindful approach. First off, planning is your best friend. Before heading to a restaurant, I often check their menu online. This allows me to scope out options and even mentally prepare for what I'm going to order. For instance, if I'm craving pizza (and who isn't sometimes?!), I'll look for places that offer thinner crusts or have a good selection of veggie toppings. Instead of a meat-lovers feast, I might opt for a Margherita with extra basil or a veggie-packed pie. Sometimes, simply asking for half the cheese can make a big difference in calories and fat without sacrificing flavor. Another one of my go-to's when eating out is a hearty hash bowl. These can be amazing, but they can also be loaded with extra fats. My trick? I ask if they can customize it. Can I get extra scrambled eggs and veggies, and perhaps go lighter on the chorizo or ask for it on the side? Sometimes, swapping out home fries for a side salad or extra steamed vegetables can instantly make it a more balanced meal. It’s about not being afraid to ask for modifications – most restaurants are happy to accommodate! And for those brunch cravings, a bagel sandwich is pure comfort food. To make it a bit more weight-loss friendly, I'll choose a whole wheat bagel if available, and then load it up with healthy fats like avocado and plenty of fresh veggies. Instead of piling on multiple slices of cheese, I'll stick to one or ask for a lighter portion. These small tweaks mean I still get to enjoy that satisfying bagel experience without feeling overly stuffed or guilty afterward. Portion control is also key. When my food arrives, I often mentally (or sometimes even physically!) divide my plate. If it’s a large portion, I might ask for a to-go box right away and put half aside for later. This prevents overeating and ensures I’m listening to my body's hunger cues. Drinking a glass of water before and during the meal also helps with satiety. Ultimately, cheat days are about balance and reminding ourselves that food is meant to be enjoyed. One meal, or even one indulgent day, won't ruin weeks of progress. The most important thing is to savor the experience, eat mindfully, and then get right back to your healthy habits the next day. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and these "healthy cheat day meals" are a vital part of staying motivated and happy on your weight loss journey!
