Thinking about making a web comic (ish?)
Being bored in a room where you sit at a whiteboard table can get you doodling & thinking up ideas. Especially when you have other creative thoughts on the mind, such as wanting to create something. That's what happened with this current idea. It's not got anything concrete or a plot or anything, but it's just something cute & silly I was thinking of & will flesh out more as I continue to have access to the whiteboard table.
So in order of images, we have the MC, Dahlia. Her mother, who doesn't have a name yet. Dahlia's best (& only) friend Jeremy. & Dahlia's dad, Laurence.
Basically, my idea was Dahlia has unnatural eyes, unnaturally large, unnaturally unnerving, you name it. The summation of things is Dahlia doing normal everyday things & everyone is freaked out by her, despite the fact she's not really doing anything. The only people who don't freak out at her are her mother, Jeremy & Laurence.
Dahlia's not the only 'weird' one in her family. Dahlia's mother's eyes are always closed, but while people think it's strange, it doesn't bother them too much. Laurence, out of the 3, is the one who looks 'normal' & are always 'confused why he stays'. This, obviously, pisses Laurence off. Instead of saying anything though, he chooses to 'prove he's as weird as the rest of his family' & always chooses to do something so outlandishly out there that it horrifies everyone else.
Jeremy, the only one outside of Dahlia's family to not he freaked out by her, is not freaked out because of 1 factor. He's never seen her face. They're on the same bus. He sits in the seat behind hers. They always talk to each other through the crack near the window. The only thing is, anytime he looks at her, her face gets covered up by some convenient thing. A stray paper, a bridge over the road making the bus pitch dark, a bush conveniently overgrown in the middle of the only bench nearby, etc. That would be a running gag of 'what's going to block her face this time?' & it seems funny in my head.
& yeah, just a basic idea, general concept. Might turn into something, might not. If it does, I'll post the first part on tumblr & might make a post here about it. Tell me your thoughts. 🤷
