Each character holds a special place, and for us, bringing them to life through cosplay is our way of celebrating them, making them our own personal 'mascots' of fun! When we decided to do an Undertale family cosplay, the biggest question was, 'Who gets to be whom?' And then, the adorable idea hit us: our baby as Sans! It was such a blast planning the tiny details for his costume – from the blue jacket to the comfy little slippers. Getting a baby into costume requires some serious planning, patience, and a lot of laughs. Our little one took to it surprisingly well, mostly because it was comfy and allowed for plenty of naps! If you're thinking of doing a family cosplay with a little one, here are a few tips I learned: First, prioritize comfort above all else. Scratchy fabrics or restrictive outfits are a no-go. Think soft, breathable materials. Secondly, keep it simple! Elaborate props or complex pieces are challenging for tiny hands (and mouths!). A simple hat, a comfortable onesie, or a signature accessory can be just as effective. For Sans, his blue jacket and a comfy hoodie were perfect. Third, embrace the chaos. Kids, especially babies, don’t follow scripts. Be ready for impromptu photos, unexpected giggles, and quick costume changes. The best shots often come from candid moments! We had so much fun watching our little Sans interact with 'big' Papyrus and Frisk. The joy on everyone’s faces made all the effort worth it. Beyond just the baby, our Papyrus and Frisk costumes were a labor of love. We focused on recognizable elements: Papyrus's signature scarf and battle body, and Frisk's striped shirt and determined expression. The best part of Undertale cosplay, in my opinion, is how much room there is for creativity and personal interpretation while still staying true to the beloved characters.
