Derpy’s page needs to be finished 🥹💙🐯💙 I realized I made him look more of a cat than his tiger, majestic self 😂 that’s okay, because he’s a baby 🥹

Hey art fam! You know how sometimes you start a drawing with one idea, and it just takes on a life of its own? That's exactly what happened with my latest derpy tiger drawing. I was aiming for majestic, but this little guy turned out to be the most adorable, cat-like tiger you ever did see! And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way – there's something so charming about a 'derpy' animal sketch, right? When I'm drawing animals, especially in a side view, I often find myself playing with proportions to get that unique, quirky look. For this derpy tiger, I exaggerated some features, like making his head slightly larger and his eyes a bit wide-set, which instantly adds to the 'derp' factor. A side view can be tricky because you need to convey depth and form with just one angle, but it's also a fantastic way to capture personality. Think about how a slight tilt of the head or a subtle curve in the spine can completely change an animal's expression. Speaking of expressions, achieving a 'derpy' look often comes down to the eyes and mouth. For my derpy tiger, I gave him soft, round eyes rather than sharp, predatory ones, and a gentle, almost smiling curve to his muzzle. It instantly transformed him from a fierce jungle cat into a cuddly, oversized kitty. Don't be afraid to experiment with different eye shapes and placements – sometimes just moving them a little closer or further apart can make all the difference. One of my favorite parts of this process was coloring him in. I used my go-to @enmy__official acrylic markers, and they were perfect for getting those vibrant blues and oranges. Acrylic markers are fantastic for animal drawings because they offer opaque coverage and blend beautifully, allowing you to build up layers and add texture without making the paper soggy. For my derpy tiger, I used a mix of warm and cool tones to give his fur depth, even though he's a cartoonish character. The key is to have fun with your colors and let your imagination run wild! If you're trying your hand at drawing derpy animals, here's a little tip: don't strive for perfection. The beauty of 'derpy' art is in its imperfections. Embrace the wobbly lines, the slightly off-kilter eyes, and the unexpected proportions. It's about capturing the essence of cuteness and humor. Sometimes, starting with a simple shape like an oval for the body and a circle for the head, then building out the features, can make the process less intimidating. For a side view, remember to think about how the limbs would connect and how the body would naturally curve. I'd love to hear about your own experiences drawing animals!
