2009 vs 2018

A little thing I did years ago where I redrew some armor I made on Deviantart in 2009 (9th Grade) using everything I learned from Figure Drawing class in College.

While I did have some skill even back then, I still packed the proper knowledge of anatomy and space.

Even now with my current art style, I see areas I have to improve on.

With advancements in skill, understanding of anatomy, and awareness of space, artists often notice stark contrasts when comparing past and present works. Techniques learned in structured settings, such as Figure Drawing classes, play a crucial role in refining styles. The 2009 design may reveal youthful creativity but may lack the depth of knowledge acquired through years of practice. In contrast, the 2018 redesign benefits from a more profound comprehension of artistic principles, showcasing improved anatomy and design sophistication. Engaging in exercises, challenges, and community feedback can lead to significant enhancements in one's craft. Participating in art forums and challenges, such as #artideas and #artist, further bolsters growth. These platforms provide valuable opportunities for feedback, inspiration, and collaboration, helping artists to evolve their styles continually. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned artist, reflecting on past works can offer insight into your unique artistic journey and inspire new directions for creativity.
