The Judge
Another one of my pieces from January 2024. This painting tells the story of a seraph who, after centuries of judging sinners and where they shall end up after death, has become corrupted by his own self righteousness. His corruption causes him to begin his own decent into Hell, making him another angel to fall from Heaven.
In January 2024, the artwork titled 'The Judge' captures the transformation of a seraphic being who, once a divine judge of souls, becomes ensnared in his own moral failings. This piece resonates deeply with themes of corruption and redemption, challenging viewers to reflect on their own judgments and the consequences of self-righteousness. As the seraph descends into a hellish fate, he becomes a poignant symbol of the fine line between justice and damnation. The intricate details in the painting not only bring the emotions of despair and loss to life but also provoke thoughts around the nature of sin and the possibility of forgiveness. Art lovers and scholars often find contemporary religious themes intertwined with personal struggles in works like this. With hashtags such as #darkartwork and #christianart, the painting opens discussions about the impact of faith and morality in artistic expression.
